Joining Laroche, is a superb opportunity for l’Avenir. L’Avenir al- ready enjoyed a great reputation thanks to the enlightened work of the previous wine- maker, François Naudé. L’Avenir’s Pinotage was always one of South Africa’s refe- rences, as well as the Chenin Blanc, typical grape variety and a classic par excellence.
Today we work in an environment that is favourable to exchanges with my colleague winemakers based in Chablis, in Languedoc, and in Chile. It is the advantage of belonging to the same family: we can exchange our ideas and experiences in order to constantly contribute to the improvement of our wines.
The style of wines that we produce today is probably more topical than before. The search for the typicality of each grape variety of each terroir is paramount. We use less wood than before, we let the fruit express its quality and obtain more freshness. Above all, we focus on delicacy and balance.
