South Africa has an appellation system which separates the vineyards into 5 winemaking regions, 10 districts and 90 domains where more than 50 grape varieties are planted. Laroche wine is essentially produced in Stellenbosch, located near Cape town, the principal region for production in South Africa.
The climate of this particular region offers excellent conditions for the production of noble grapes due to the granite soils and sloped mountains.
